Era 4: God of War Laufey — Parallel Timeline

⚠️ Runs Concurrently

Laufey's story does not take place before or after the Norse era — it runs parallelto GoW 2018 and Ragnarök. Faye's journey in the Everywhen happens at the same time Kratos and Atreus are spreading her ashes and fighting through the Nine Realms.
  • Faye dies and is laid to rest (opening of GoW 2018) — the narrative begins immediately after her funeral
  • Faye awakens in the Everywhen— described as “the afterlife of the gods of all mythologies,” a realm where deities from every pantheon exist after death
  • The Everywhen's magic density is amplified a thousandfoldcompared to the Greek and Norse realms (confirmed by Barlog in the IGN interview)
  • Multiple mythologies overlap inside the Everywhen — Egyptian (Sekhmet), Mongolian (Begtse), Norse, and potentially more
  • Faye can hear Kratos' voice and see his apparitionsfrom within the Everywhen — a cross-time perception enabled by the realm's amplified magic
  • Faye battles gods of war from various pantheons as she discovers her plan to protect Kratos and Atreus is under threat
  • Faye is joined by Phranque (a gelatinous cube companion) and Rue (a ribbon guardian who watches over a legendary sword)
  • Cory Barlog: “Everything that we're doing in this game runs parallel to 2018 and Ragnarök, and ties directly to everything, so it's all part of a single universe.”
