The Forging

The Leviathan Axe was forged by the dwarf brothers Brok and Sindri, master blacksmiths of the Norse realms. The axe was created as a weapon to rival Mjölnir, Thor's hammer — a response to the destruction the Thunder God wreaked upon the Giants.

Faye's Weapon

Before Kratos ever wielded the Leviathan Axe, it belonged to Laufey (Faye). That fact alone gives the weapon a different charge in Laufey. This was never just Kratos' axe that happened to have a backstory. It was Faye's mark on the Norse saga first.

After Faye's death, Kratos took up the axe and turned it into one of the defining weapons of the modern series. God of War Laufey now has the chance to swing the perspective back toward the person who owned that legacy first.

Abilities

  • Recall — The axe returns to the wielder's hand when thrown
  • Frost — Imbued with ice magic that freezes enemies and environments
  • Runic Attacks — Can be enhanced with runic inscriptions
  • Heavy/Light Attacks — Versatile combat tool for both quick and powerful strikes

ℹ️ Laufey Trailer

Seeing the axe back with Faye is one of the reveal's smartest emotional pulls. It immediately reminds players that this weapon had a life before Kratos ever caught it.
